                                       Square Roots

Today I am going to prove that I can do square roots. 

What is a square root? 

A square root is a number that if you say, what is the square root of 25? the answer will be 5 because 5x5=25. I will give another example. 

6x6=36, 8x8=64, 7x7=49. So if someone asks you what is the square root of 81 you can say 9 because 9x9=81.

What is squared or cubed?

Squared and cubed are kind of similar to square roots except if someone says what is 3 squared you can say 9 because squared means something times itself. Here are some examples.

4 squared=16, 5 squared=25 and 2 squared=4

Cubed is nearly the exact same but instead of multiplying the number by itself once you multiply it by itself twice here are some examples of this.

1 cubed=1, 4 cubed=64 and 3 cubed=27.

Wonder!!!

WALT: Write a narrative.

We had to write an added paragraph to our class book, Wonder.

Beep, beep, beep went the racing heart monitor as i'm rushed through the packed emergency room. I enter my room and the suddenly frantic doctors flood in the now sweaty doctors try to quickly work out what is wrong with me. While they are doing that i'm bawling my eyes out. My tears feel like a waterfall streaming down my face. They are dripping onto my Luke Skywalker star wars t-shirt.

Finally the doctors and nurses figure out what's wrong with me. I get the horrifying news...

My goals for 2015 are
1. Work with the year 7s
2. Get a distinction badge 
3. Focus a lot better and to stay in the flow

Big Buddy Programme

Today the year 7s went on camp to Wainui. For the next three days we will be participating in a Big Buddy programme with the year 1s. Today we got assigned a little buddy and a partner to help you with your buddy until more children arrive at school. We got to read our buddy books and learn about them also we played games with them. I showed leadership by respecting our principal who is teaching us her name is Mrs Trotter and helping other students with their little buddys. Overall I thing I showed a massive amount of leadership today.

Reflection On My Term 4 Goals

I ended up finishing my homework challenges and I'm proud of it because I have a chance of getting a leadership role and I get a medal. You get a silver medal in year 7 and a gold one in year 8. I learnt my 12 times table by learning to just do 10x that number then 2x the number and then plus them together. I got all "very good" in my technology report we have 1 week left and we are programming robots to do sumo tori, soccer and races. Overall I think I did well achieving all my goals.

Library

On Monday I was on librarian I was on desk with Emma our job on desk is to issue and return books for children. After that's done we pack up the library and ask people to leave because the library is closing. The library closes at 1:20 so people can go outside and play for 10 minutes.

Choir

Last week at choir we ran through our old songs, Bad Day and You Gotta Do Right before we went onto our latest song Money,Money,Money. I didn't need the song sheet because I had practiced at home while the production was on. This week I will put in my best effort.
